Switching Diffusion Processes and Applications

Abstract. In this talk, we present some of our recent work (with R.Z. Khasminskii, Q.S. Song, and C. Zhu) on switching diffusions featuring the coexistence of continuous dynamics and discrete events. After providing motivational examples, we recall the notion of recurrence and regularity, present necessary and sufficient conditions for recurrence, delineate ergodic properties, and investigate stability and instability.
