Rating System
Each colloquium talk has been self-rated as follows:
G Rating
General audience. That is, graduate students who are not
specialists in the field will be able to attend and to
understand at least the first 30 minutes of the talk.
[This is the rating that we prefer.]
R Rating
Restricted. Graduate students in this specialty area
will be able to follow the first 30 minutes of the
talk. Faculty from all areas of pure and applied mathematics
will be able to follow at least the first 30 minutes
of the talk.
[We will tolerate this if necessary.]
X Rating
X-rated. Only specialists in the area will understand
even the first 30 minutes of the talk. In other words,
this is
a specialty seminar talk.
[We do not want these kind of talks. Speakers wishing
to give such a talk are asked to give a talk rated G instead.]
