This semester we are arranging study groups for various courses to meet
along with a tutor who is well qualified to assist with that course.
In addition to providing help with math, the tutors are trained to help
students take responsibility for their own learning. They can help you
to: (a) Learn how to study math, (b) Learn how to get the most from
their textbooks, (c) Learn how to prepare for tests and quizzes,
(d) Learn how to overcome math and test anxiety
Hours: Monday -- Thursday 08:30 am TO 05:00 pm
Friday: 08:30 am TO 02:00 pm
Saturday (Room 216 State Hall): 12:00 pm TO 04:00 pm
No appointment necessary, but tutoring by appointment is also available.

Annual Putnam Exam
This is a nation-wide competition which is open to essentially all
undergraduates. The is no charge to take this examination. The
emphasis is on problems which require elementary methods but some
originality to be solved. Freshmen and sophomores are especially
encouraged to enter the competition. A brochure describing the
exam will be found outside of 1123 FAB.
* Practice sessions will be held Fridays in October and November,
01:00 - 02:00 pm, FAB 1285. Students taking the exam should
